Just a quick note to let you know that I won't be blogging or bloghopping for a while. I had been convicted for a while about things in my life, and really wasn't making the necessary changes. Well, the Lord really beginining showing me some mistakes I was making in my walk with him. It's been a tug-a-war between the Spirit and the flesh, and I have to get rid of the temptations that the Lord has been convicting me about.
You know, it's real easy to become Martha of the Bible instead of Mary. It's easy to get wrapped up in searving the Lord than having a deep relationship with the Lord and setting at the feet of Jesus and being with the Lord. That's a happy balance that I am striving for right now too.
I hope to be back enventually, but I don't know if I will. I'll drop by your blog. Pray for me. I am so glad the Lord stopped me and got me back on the right pathway.
Thought I would share with you how Donald and I have both had the open mouth, insert foot disease the last few weeks. I'm going to start with him, but his example was MUCH worse than mine! The barber my husband uses worked with his daughters. Well, we knew the barber had been diagnosed with cancer and that they were going to operate on him and he would be off for a bit. So we went to his barber shop a few weeks ago which would be the first time after him having surgery. My husband asked the daughter that was cutting his hair how her dad was doing. She stopped cutting his hair for a second, and tells us her dad had died the previous week from complications from the surgery. My husband apologized and we told her that we did't subscribe to the local newspaper so we had missed his obituary. She went on to tell us what happened. When we got in the car, my husband was talking about how he wished he hadn't asked.
Then my little incident happened in church last week. I was talking to one of the elderly saints, and was asking about her daughter because I didn't see her at church. Well, she had been up praise singing in front of the whole church! I told the lady that I was asking about later on, and she was laughing. Like I told her, it was the thought that counted
Oh, I did get my cell phone and it's been working great! I was able to get that, and also a case and car charger from ebay for about $40 cheaper than my parents! Love those bargains!
Well, I had this great theme for a post last week, and didn't post it. Of course, now I have totally forgot what it was going to be about. So I guess I'll catch you up on things in my life.
The air conditioning is working much better now. He put the electric fan vent deal in and it does help when it starts getting hot in the afternoon. It is set to kick on when it gets to 90 degrees in the attic and starts sucking out the hot air. After it cools down, I think he is going to hook up another one at the other end of the house.
I found a cell phone on ebay to replace my old one. Hope everything goes ok with that. The person had perfect feedback and had sold phones before like the one that I bought so we shall see. Hopefully everything will be ok with it because I got it for half the cost of the one in the store.
Abby got the two of us in trouble. She had her very first accident in the house since I had got her-the nasty one IYKWIM! Because of my back, my husband had to clean it up. That went over well! Anyway, I'm leaving her outside more especially while we are gone-that's when she had this accident. I have been leaving her inside quite a bit due to the heat.
My friend from WY is coming down next week. I'm real excited about that. I haven't see her since she moved out there about five years ago. She's excited about coming too but dreading the heat. We had still at 100 with a heat index of 105+ most days, although the weather web pages show it cooling down to the low 90's when she supposed to be here.
I had a little scare with the air conditioner yesterday. It stopped blowing cold again. We don't know what happened. I know I whispered a prayer. Thank goodness it's working again, although we are still having trouble in the afternoon with being hot. It's blowing cold out the vents. My husband is going to install some kind of air vent at one end of our trailer-it's supposed to help suck out the hot air, then in the fall, he's going to blow some more insulation. A guy from the company came out this week to get the model number on the part they repaced so they could submit their claim. He said they have went through 4 secretaries this summer due to them having so much business! It's that way with all the companies-this heat is doing a number on the air units where I live.
I am aggravated with my cell phone provider-it begins wi Ci so I figure you all know who I am talking about. My phone is just 3 years old, but they are going to a new network. If you don't have a new phone with the new network, you have to pay a $5 fee. Of course, mine is in that category, although it's supposed to be for the new and old network too. I have done asked two places and they both say mine will be charged-I guess since it reads the other network too. So now I have to get a new cell phone. I'm not going under contract again because we have a cheap plan that is no longer available. It will be more up front, but if I got a new plan, it would cost me $240 for the two years-I can find a phone cheaper than that!
I don't know about everybody else, but our electric bills this summer have been horrible! We got another high one last week. Friends have suggested we go on levelized (sp) billing, but my husband doesn't want to do that. Once we get past this hot season, they should drop. We heat with wood heat, so they drop once winter gets here.
